A place of beauty and nature

Magnolia House

Magnolia House is our new campus featuring the beautifully renovated Inter-War home and gardens built by John Surgeon in 1920. The indoor play spaces feature original fireplaces and beautiful stained glass bay windows that look out to Magnolia trees and expansive gardens. It is an exquisite and nurturing home-like environment for our babies and early learners. The new modern preschool facilities offer progressive sustainable learning spaces, architecturally designed with natural and artistic elements, to nurture the children’s appreciation for beauty in their world. The outdoor playground includes a mini tennis court on the site of the original tennis court built by the previous owners, inspired by their uncle legendary tennis player and coach, Harry Hopman. Our ‘Hopman Court’ is a flexible space for many different sports and outdoor learning experiences.

Tallowwood Place

Tallowwood Place leverages the beautifully restored former Congregational Church with its original features such as stained-glass windows, timber ceilings and brick archways. These features flow effortlessly through to the new modern facilities and playground designed to highlight and protect the established trees that shade and frame our outdoor learning environment. CEEC takes pride in our spectacular mural, painted by Australian artist, Chris Nixon. It is a beautiful abstract tapestry of the flora and fauna found within the Cheltenham local community and the nearby Lane Cove National Park. SEEC’s logo is intertwined to symbolise the inherent connections of CEEC’s educators, management, families, and the community. Our children love to find the “familiar in the surreal”.

A place of community and partnerships

Our caring educators place an emphasis on developing positive and trusting relationships with the children and their families and encourage family feedback and participation continually in our programs. We value the important role of parents in their child’s education journey. As partners, we encourage open communication and collaboration, ensuring that each child’s individual needs are understood and supported. Our exceptional team value transparent communications with families.

A place where children thrive

CEEC’s Early Learning Communities have small learning groups (for children aged 6 weeks to 3 years) with high educator/child ratios to ensure individual care and learning. The facilities are spacious and well-resourced with separate outdoor garden learning environments specifically designed for our Early Learners.

Our Preschool Communities each provide preschool programs for two learning groups aged 3 to 6 years, with high educator/child ratios to ensure higher quality outcomes for children in preparation for school. Our preschools open out to outdoor playgrounds with an abundance of inspiring spaces for them to explore, create, challenge, or to have quiet time with their friends and make meaning of the world.

Each campus has a dining area joining our Early Learning and Preschool spaces where our in-house chefs serve fresh healthy meals that have been prepared daily in our kitchens. The children learn practical life and social skills when helping to prepare, cook and clean after meals in our purpose-built children’s kitchens.

CEEC has strict policies and safety checks to ensure our environments are safe, secure and well-maintained at all times. Our environments are designed for optimal safety and supervision of children and have a security access system permitting only authorised people to enter.

CEEC protects the health and well-being of all children, educators and families at all times with robust policies and practices. Our environments are regularly cleaned throughout the day and daily by professional cleaners. Our staff all have Working with Children Checks and are trained in child protection, first aid, anaphylaxis and asthma.

Our educational program includes a Mandarin language program supported by Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA); ELSA, a play-based STEM early years program; and various educational extra-curricular experiences to support our curriculum, such as music and science discovery workshops. A multisport program run in-house is offered by a specialist company for a small additional fee.

CEECs in-house chef daily prepares and serves nutritious meals using seasonal and fresh ingredients. Our menu allows for many different choices and follows the nutritional requirements set out by the National Food Authority as well as the cultural and health needs of our children.

To make life as easy as possible for busy families, our centre provides as much as possible of your child’s daily needs including nappies, meals, sun hats, sunscreen and bed sheets. We also provide our families access to Storypark which is a secure online system that helps us to record, share and extend the children’s learning.

CEEC is accessible by public transport and is close to Cheltenham train station and bus routes. There is also onsite car parking available.

Located 5m from bus stop, 600m from train station, and 900m from the M2 onramp
