Westmead Early Education Centre

Westmead Early Education Centre is an architecturally and expertly designed purpose-built centre that features a Preschool Centre and an Early Learning Centre. The Early Learning Centre is located at 108 Railway Street, Wentworthville and is a beautifully renovated and expanded cottage with a natural garden learning environment. The Preschool Centre (including the office) is located at 106 Railway Street and has been designed for a seamless natural flow between the indoor and outdoor learning environments.

WEEC’s huge outdoor garden learning environment is a ‘wow’ factor within our community with many children referring to it as the “park”. The large playgrounds and variety of natural learning spaces create a sense of tranquillity, wonder and discovery, and allow for children to play and learn together in small groups. Our mini farmyard teaches children how to care for animals such as our chickens, and to cultivate fruit and vegetables from our gardens.

“The education of even a small child, therefore, does not aim at preparing him for school, but for life.”

MARIA MONTESSORI

A place of community and partnerships

Our caring educators place an emphasis on developing positive and trusting relationships with the children and their families and encourage family feedback and participation continually in our programs. We value the important role of parents in their child’s education journey. As partners, we encourage open communication and collaboration, ensuring that each child’s individual needs are understood and supported. Our exceptional team value transparent communications with families

A place where children thrive

Our Early Learning Centre has two small learning groups (for children aged 6 weeks to 3 years) with high educator/child ratios to ensure individual care and learning. The facilities provide a home-like atmosphere and are well-resourced with a separate beautiful garden learning environment specifically designed for our Early Learners.

Our Preschool Centre provides a preschool program for two learning groups aged 3 to 6 years, with high educator/child ratios to ensure higher quality outcomes for children in preparation for school. Our preschool indoor learning environments open out to a large outdoor playground with an abundance of inspiring spaces for them to explore, create, challenge, or to have quiet time with their friends and make meaning of the world.

Both centres have dining areas where our in-house cook serves fresh healthy meals that she has prepared daily in our kitchen. The children learn practical life and social skills when helping to prepare, cook and clean after meals.
