Northmead Early
Education Centre
Open Day

Northmead Early Education Centre was officially opened on the 17th of April 2012, by the Honourable Kate Ellis MP, Minister for Early Childhood. Although her visit was scheduled to be quite short, she enjoyed her visit so much she spent quite a lot more time than expected. During her opening speech she acknowledged and appreciated our High Quality Centre and thanked us for establishing our ‘Learning for Life’ Curriculum. She made particular note of our embracement of the National Quality Framework and our commitment to serving the educational needs of the families and children who are able to access the Centre.

After the formalities and Official Opening of the Centre, the Minister was taken on a tour of the Centre, where she introduced herself to the educators and got down and played with many of the children.

We would like to record a big thank you to the Minister Kate Ellis, not only for officially opening our Centre but also for all the work she has done to make the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework a reality. These moves have really raised the bar for Quality in Child Care in Australia.

As a mother of three and full-time worker in a child-related industry, I have no hesitation in sharing how impressed I am with the quality child-care offered at Northmead Early Education Centre. All of the staff at the centre are extremely friendly, child care professionals who are interested, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about caring for the children, and they engage and work seamlessly in partnership with the families accessing the centre. The teachers are genuinely happy and responsive to the children and are tireless in their capacity to smile at things that would drive most of us nuts! The centre is safe, offers delicious healthy gourmet food……and I have never seen cleaner or more beautiful surroundings! No wonder any time I go to the centre I never hear crying or sadness or yelling tantrums as the children are all stimulated and all of their needs are being met in an amazing colourful setting! If you have to have your child in care the best place (other than your family home) is Northmead Early Education Centre!
