Northmead Early Education Centre

Northmead Early Education Centre (NEEC) was officially opened on the 17th of April 2012, by the then Honourable Kate Ellis MP, Minister for Early Childhood. NEEC is an architecturally and expertly designed purpose-built centre and features a Preschool Centre (located in the beautiful heritage Santa Rosa building) and an Early Learning Centre.

NEEC has been designed for a seamless natural flow between the indoor and outdoor learning environments. The internal aspects acknowledge the building’s sense of place, considering its heritage and place in the local community. Features such as stained-glass windows and ornate ceilings have been retained, and timbers and some of Santa Rosa’s antiques have been re-purposed for the children’s use and exploration.

“No significant learning occurs without a significant relationship.”

JAMES COMER

A place of community and partnerships

Our caring educators place an emphasis on developing positive and trusting relationships with the children and their families and encourage family feedback and participation continually in our programs. We value the important role of parents in their child’s education journey. As partners, we encourage open communication and collaboration, ensuring that each child’s individual needs are understood and supported. Our exception team value transparent communications with families.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

NELSON MANDELA

A place where children thrive

Our Early Learning Centre has three small learning groups (aged between 6 weeks to 3 years) and high educator/child ratios to ensure individual care and learning. The facilities are spacious and well-resourced with a separate beautiful garden learning environment specifically designed for our Early Learners.

Our Preschool Centre provides a preschool program for two learning groups of children aged 3 to 6 years, with high educator/child ratios to ensure higher quality outcomes for children in preparation for school. The preschool children have access to two outdoor garden play areas with an abundance of inspiring spaces for them to explore, create, challenge, or to have quiet time with their friends and make meaning of the world.

An al fresco dining area joins our Early Learning Centre to our Preschool where our in-house cook serves fresh healthy meals that she has prepared daily in our kitchen. The children learn practical life and social skills when helping to prepare, cook and clean after meals in our purpose-built children’s outdoor kitchen.

NEEC has strict policies and safety checks to ensure our environments are safe, secure and well-maintained at all times. Our environments are designed for optimal safety and supervision of children and have a security access system permitting only authorised people to enter.

NEEC protects the health and well-being of all children, educators and families at all times with robust policies and practices. Our environments are regularly cleaned throughout the day and daily by professional cleaners. Our staff all have Working with Children Checks and are trained in child protection, first aid, anaphylaxis and asthma.

Our educational program includes a Mandarin language program supported by Early Learning Languages Australia (ELLA); ELSA a play-based STEM early years program; and various educational extra-curricular experiences to support our curriculum, such as  music and science discovery workshops. A multisport program run in-house is offered by a specialist company for a small additional fee.

NEECs in-house cook daily prepares and serves nutritious meals using seasonal and fresh ingredients. Our menu allows for many different choices and follows the nutritional requirements set out by the National Food Authority as well as the cultural and health needs of our children.

To make life as easy as possible for busy families, our centre provides as much as possible of your child’s daily needs including nappies, meals, sun hats, sunscreen and bed sheets. We also provide our families access to Storypark which is a secure online system that helps us to record, share and extend the childs learning.

NEEC is accessible by public transport with a bus stop outside Windsor Road. There is also plenty of onsite car parking available for ‘drop off’ and ‘pick up’ of children.

Located 5m from bus stop, 1.5km from the M2 onramp, and 7mins from Parramatta.
